Configuring Read&Write for Windows to work with Proxy Servers


Please Note:- This information only relates to Read&Write for Windows.

It may be required to configure Read&Write for Windows to work with your proxy server to enable certain online features as well as licencing.

To configure Read&Write for Windows follow the steps below:

  • Locate the ReadAndWrite.exe.config file in the installation path of the Read&Write install

    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Texthelp\Read And Write 12

  • Copy this file to your desktop

  • Open the copied ReadAndWrite.exe.config in notepad

  • Modify the <system.net> section as per below to add your proxy address

  • Finally copy this file back to the installation path of the Read&Write install
