Which text-to-speech voices you can use in ClaroRead Chrome depends on where you are running Chrome.

Chrome on Windows PC
You get the Google voices. These are all streamed over the Internet so you must be online for them to work. Voices include English, German, French, Spanish, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese and more.
If you are a ClaroRead Chrome Premium customer you get many more voices streamed over the Internet. You must be online for them to work.
Chromebook
You get the Google voices. These are all installed on your Chromebook so you do not need an Internet connection to use them. Voices include English, German, French, Spanish, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese and more.
If you are a ClaroRead Chrome Premium customer you get many more voices streamed over the Internet. You must be online for them to work.
Apple macOS
You get the Google voices. These are all streamed over the Internet so you must be online for them to work. Voices include English, German, French, Spanish, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese and more.
If you are a ClaroRead Chrome Premium customer you get many more voices streamed over the Internet. You must be online for them to work.
You can also select and use any voice installed on your Mac and shown in the Speech control panel in your System Preferences.
You can obtain dozens of new voices for free from the same Speech control panel. These cover many languages and voices and are completely free. See our Mac System Voices article for detailed instructions on how to do this.
ClaroRead Chrome is an extension, so does not run on Android or iOS (iPad and iPhone).
