Screenshot Reader blocked by administrator

If you’ve deployed Read&Write for Google Chrome Screenshot Reader through the Google Admin Console and users are getting the error: Screenshot reader is blocked by administrator the issue is with the product ID

Go to Device management > Chrome management > User Settings and remove Screenshot Reader from Force-installed Apps and Extensions from the console.

Click Remove and Save.

You must also click SAVE in Device management > Chrome > User Settings in the lower right hand corner of the page to apply the change

After removing Screenshot Reader from the console, go to Device management > Chrome >  Chrome App Management

In Chrome App Management Screenshot Reader will appear by its extension ID

Click on the box to the left of the Product ID and it will change to a tick box. Tick the box to select it.

Then click on the 3 dots (Settings) at the top right of the screen and select Remove App(s)

Click OK to remove the app

After removing the extension and the ID, return to Device management > Chrome > User Settings > Force-installed Apps and Extensions

Select Chrome Web Store  and search for Screenshot Reader then hit Enter

Select Screenshot Reader then click Add

You must also click SAVE in Device management > Chrome > User Settings in the lower right hand corner of the page to apply the change

In Device management > Chrome >  ChromeApp Management Screenshot Reader will appear with the extension icon instead of the ID

This will now deploy the correct version of Screenshot Reader
