If you receive the following message when trying to run Read&Write for Mac Take Home, there is a security setting to allow the file to be downloaded
If using Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan and older
Note: you must be logged in with an administrator account for this procedure
1) Click on the System Preferences icon
2) Go to Security & Privacy
3) Click the lock icon and enter your password to make changes
4) On the General tab under Allow application downloaded from select Anywhere
5) Click Allow from anywhere when prompted, then close the Security & Privacy window
You will now be able to run Read&Write for Mac Take Home. Once Read&Write has been activated, you can reset Allow applications downloaded from: back to Mac App store and identified developers by following the steps outlined above.
Instructions for OS X 10.12 Sierra and OS X 10.3 High Sierra
Note: you must be logged in with an administrator account for this procedure
1) Open Finder and go to Applications > Utilities
2) In the Utilities folder, locate Terminal
3) In Terminal type the following command:
sudo spctl --master-disable
4) Enter your password
Follow the instructions through to Step 5
To reset the Security and Privacy setting, repeat Steps 1 and 2 in the OS X 10.12 Sierra instructions above
5) In Terminal type the following command:
sudo spctl --master-enable
This will reset Security and Privacy back to its default setting
