How to make your pdfs open with Adobe Reader on Windows 8

If Adobe Reader is installed on your computer, but your pdf files are not opening with Adobe Reader:-

  1. Ensure Adobe Reader has been closed
  2. On your computer go to Control Panel > Programs > Default Programs

  1. Click on Associate a file type or protocol with a program

  1. In the list, locate .pdf and click on it.
  2. Click on the Change Program button.

  1. Select Adobe Reader from the options that are displayed, and click OK
  2. Close Control Panel
  3. Open Read&Write and click on the PDFaloud button
  4. Select the pdf file to open.  This will now open in Adobe Reader, and PDFaloud can be found under the Extended menu option
