Getting Started With The Snapverter iOS App

If you are an unlimited licensed user of a Snapverter, you can access our Snapverter iOS app.

Here are instructions on how to add the app and how to use it. 

Adding Snapverter from the App Store

First download the Snapverter iOS app from the App Store.Apple App Store search for Snapverter

Once downloaded, tap on the Snapverter icon on your phone.

Signing into the App

Premium Snapverter users can sign in with their Google Account.

First click on the Settings icon in the top left corner.

Then “Sign in”

Once you click on “Sign in with Google” your phone will ask you to continue and then you will need to sign into your Google account or select a Google Account.

Scanning and saving an image

In order to add an image you will need to touch the plus icon on the Snapverter home page and the three options will appear.

The three options for converting an image are:

  1. Quick Capture

  2. From file

  3. From camera roll

Quick Capture

To add an image by taking a picture with your iPhone or iPad you will need to click on “Quick Capture”.

Snapverter will ask to allow access to your camera.

After you click “OK” Snapverter will show your camera and you will be able to take a picture of a document.

When you have a good picture ready click on the circle at the bottom on the screen.

*If you toggle “Auto” on, it will automatically recognize the text and take the picture for you

Once the picture is taken it will start to process the image. Once done, click the green  check mark to save the image as a PDF or save to an existing PDF that you have already scanned into the app.

If you choose “Save as PDF”, give the file a name and tap OK.

Naming your scanned document

To add to an existing PDF you will need to select the PDF that has already been scanned.

You will now see your PDF in your home screen.

From File

To add an image from files, click on “From file”.

You will need to navigate to the image that you have saved on your device.

Touch the file to begin the process of scanning the image. When done, click the check mark to save the image as a PDF or save to an existing PDF that you have already scanned into the app.

If you choose “Save as PDF”, give the file a name and tap OK.

From camera roll

To add an picture that has already been taken with your camera, tab on “From camera roll”.

You will need to navigate to the image in your photos.

Tap on the file to begin the process of scanning the image. When done, click the check mark to save the image as a PDF or save to an existing PDF that you have already scanned into the app.

If you choose “Save as PDF”, give the file a name and tap OK.

Scanning an image when not signed in

If you are not signed into Snapverter, you can still scan images and have them read to you.


Images are added the same way as if you were signed in: quick capture, from file, from camera roll. Once the image is scanned in, you will not see the green check mark to save the image. You will only see the click and Speak icon as well as voice settings.

In order to read the image, tap on the Click and Speak icon to turn it on and then tap on the image where you would like to start reading. 

To stop reading, tap on the Click and Speak icon again.
