Allow Collect Highlights Permissions Not Creating New Google Doc

A change to Google Chrome has altered the apps script permissions needed for Read&Write for Google Chrome to Collect Highlights and Vocabulary Builder in Google Docs

 

Note: This issue will not impact any accounts that have already granted permissions for these features only those who have yet to use the features or revoked the permission. If a new Google Docs doesn’t open and you’re not prompted to authorize access when you collect highlights or the vocabulary list is blank, please click here for instructions.

 

When collecting highlights or vocabulary if permission hasn’t been granted you may see the following screen

Click Review Permissions and the window will close

 

Important! If  you try to collect highlights or create a vocabulary list after granting access with the above permissons screen and it appears again or a new Google Doc isn't created click here to grant access. A new tab will open with the following screen


Click Review Permissions and the following screen will appear

Select the account that you’re logged in with using Read&Write for Google Chrome 

The following screen will appear

Click the Allow button

 

You can then close the Authorization needed tab by clicking the x on the tab

You can then click the Collect Highlights or Vocabulary button and highlights will be collected in a new Google Doc
